I ordered my 700m as a x-mas present as I travel alot and need a computer for schoolwork on sports trips. I was debating between this and the 9300 and I had serious buyer's remorse after see what the graphics could (or more precisely what they couldn't do). I ordered it on the eigth and recived it on the 15 which is 5 days earlier than dell said it would arrive
. I opened it on the same day and went about configuring windows and my anti-spyware
software. Then I had to put it back in the box and wait untill december 25 
. I waited and then finally I opened it. The specs are in my sig but I'll repeat them here 1.73 ghz pentium M 2X256 (now upgraded to 2x512) ram 40gb hard drive 2X 8 cell batteries one normal one replacement 
. I got it for around 1 grand, using the $500 off coupon. Here comes my early review.

AWSOME
My eight cell L-ion last 5 hours with brightness medium 3:45 at max and 6+ hours at min. It realy is amazing because I used wi-fi played games and watched a DVD. I will never ever be bored on a plane flight again and never have to rush to an outlet to avoid losing work. It does make the 700m a little less svelt but since it's already so small it doesn't really matter.

Nothing much really to say here but runs all apps fast only struggles when you have a game and limewire open at the same time (uber lag
). When I changed out the ram it only got faster I hardly ever see the boot screen and it loads games really blazingly fast.

I am so confused right now my common snse says this card shouldn't run any games but my computer says yes. I have a Half-Life CS:CZ The Specialist WOW Freelancer and most suprisingly THE mOvies by Lionhead (ohh and starcraft). The games all run at high except for the movies which is at medium. I tried to run BLack and white 2 but the Extreme Graphics 2 does'nt have pixel shader 1.1 so thats a no-go. But other than that I love how it handles graohics and seeing how light it is I am glad I didn't buy a 9300
. I cant justify giving it a 4 because it just isn't quite good enough for gamers that are serious but for me it is a 4.5.

40 gb was all I thought I needed until it shipped and I realized that 40=33.7 out of the box which I might add is *&(*&%^$^% and whoever makes it should go &*&% himself with a *&%ing pole.....But its probably just windows and other crap. ahh well. I keep my itunes on here fine and all those games so its alright.

People have been complaining about light leakage and I have a tiny bit in my upper right hand corner but you cant notice it unless you are really looking close. All in all the screen is bright an text is easily seen on it you really dont have to strain your eyes at all.

Not a five because the period isn't a full key just a half. But you get used to it fast and there really is noproblem with the keyboard unless your fingers are the size of soda cans.

No scratches and the the screen has no flez, my sisters lappy an i550 from a couple years back flexes like a yoga preforming twizler. The case is solid and I think the white trim is attractive and looks god with the silver. I whish the usb ports were on the right hand side but since I use a Microsoft wireless mose it doesnt make a huge diffrence. There are several light up icons inder the screen that are actually functional and tell you things like when your laptops on wifi and when your plugged in. This is much better than on some where they just flash on and off randomly. The mouse buttons and touchpad are stiff and responsive just the way I like it.

Good sound quality but very poor loudness they will get drowned out by running water when they are on full.
Bottom line 8.8/10 The only major letdown in this laptop is speaker quality which is easily fixed by a decent pair of headphones (like the ones that come with the ipod). I love this computer. It runs quiet and cool handles everything I need and much more and is blazing fast.
