For me either just one partition, then make folders and then do a shortcut out the My Computer or the desktop.

Or two partition one with windows and installed programs/games and the other is storage.

80 GB hard drive

15 - 20 GB Windows and installed stuff
60 - 65 GB storage

Or Better buy another hard drive. The is the best option I think. More storage just another partition, and great speed accessing.
