freezes with raining white dots

Thread Starter
i was on the Steam forums (source game discussions/ half life 2) and then it came....

i click back on IE and the system froze! then raining white dots appear on my screen, dancing raining white dots. then i had to do a hard reboot

the last time i seen it was when i start up "java web start" application and viewing a java site.

is it a java problem?

It sounds like your system is overheating, Java is not capable of that (to my knowledge)

I know on my desktop system (7800GTX) whenever java loads up on various web pages my screen gets fuzzy & blurry - not just the web page, but the whole screen. Then when I close IE everything goes back to normal when java unloads. It never happened on my X850XT based system so I think its related to the nvidia drivers or something. Anyone else get this or is it just me?

Ok, maybe Java can do that then...it's not something I've seen on any work PCs, I don't use IE myself.

Turn off antialiasing from the desktop.
