http://www.channelregister.co.uk/200...h_benchmarked/ Now before you give me flames you have to stop acting like a baby and interpret this news. Okay, so they are comparing a dual core desktop X2 to a yonah for notebook and it scores the same or slightly less than the althlon X2. The powerconsumtpions are entriely different. But there is a major flaw here which I do not LIKE!! INTEL INCZREASED THE FUC&*N POWERCONSUMTION OF THE YONAH FANS FANS FANS FANS!!!!!!!! I A NEVER GOIGN TO BUY ONE!! Just had to say that. Anywyas for a laptop chip that is amazing and now it competes with low end desktops. But remebner in like a inch form factor. BUT FANS@! FUC#*R THe fANS! IM still wating to what AMD has to offer maybe less preformance for the notebook but much less Wats. If AMd can get a dual core notebook with 20W IM SOLD

I dont want to spoil the mood, but what was the specs of the yohan, P-M, and AMD X2. You can't always bench a dream machine vs. crappy competitors. Was the yohan DDR low latency, was the AMD using parts that was "competitive" of the yohans. More info, less numbers especially software optimize for intel.
Nonetheless, still a good find. Especially if all of AMDs optimizations for dual core architecture doesn't actually benefits it's technology.
my $0.02!

How do you know that Intel "increased power consumption of the Yonah fans"? Yonah does not come with fans, nor is Intel known for manufacturing fans in volumes. LOL

Anyway, the power consumption in the article is for the whole system, i.e. including at the very least desktop type of memory, desktop hard drive, and (most important) desktop video card. Judging from another article at AnandTech: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...spx?i=2648&p=5 they use ATI Radeon X850XT or NVIDIA GeForce 7800GTX. Such video cards consume over 75W under load. Don't know about idle though. But still a lot. So I would estimate Yonah on itself consuming around 30W. As expected...

Actually it i s unfair as yonah is missing memory controller or somehting like that. THere are the same exact specs and the AMd has an upper hand becuause of the memory controller. IT was a very fair test. I suggest you reading the article.
