Windows 64bit and 4GB

Has anyone tried to run XP64 with 4GB of RAM in their 9860? Were you successful?

I've done some searching in the forums and it appears that the system will only see 2.8GB, but I wondered if anybody tried it with XP.

with a 64 bit os you should be able to use 4+ gb ram without probs (dont have one on mine). i think its up to several tb, what it supports.

4GB Memory
The Clevo D900T(9860, 9880, Area 51 7700, Hypersonic EX7, or any other variant there of) model can not us 4GB of memory, while as stated by the Intel 915P chipset it can address up to 4GB, 1.17GB of this addressable memory bandwidth is reserved for other hardware devices... no matter what operating system you use, this is still the case(Yes that means you cannot use it with XP 64!!).

Thanks guys.

We've got another 9860 here, so I'll try the 2GB from it in mine just for grins (should have thought of that before posting). Looks like I'll only be adding another GB according to the sticky. Still, 3GB is not bad at all for a laptop.
