Alcon,
Apparently some of us have the option of overclocking our Pentium M FSB's from the 5720 BIOS and some of us do not. This despite having identical BIOS versions which makes this a little strange.
The purpose of this thread is to try and identify a pattern or trend of which 5720's have this option and which do not. This should reveal why some have this option and why some do not.
The explicit option I am refering to is under "ADAVANCED CHIPSET CONTROL" in your 5720 BIOS. Once you enter into this feature set, some of us have an option at the very bottom called, "SYSTEM FREQUENCY". This option allows you to OC your Pentium M FSB by as much as 15%. Now this is not anything surprising for the Pentium M, even at completely default voltage levels, the PM has proven time and time again it can be OC'd this much without issue. Presumably, this is why you also see no voltage option, it doesn't need it and would actually be more dangerous to add this as an option then to simply negate it. (See Photos)

Of course as I have also mentioned in my review of the 5720-V, every chip will respond differently to OC'ing. This becomes another question in this mystery, did Sager initially provide this option knowing the reputation of the PM and how highly OC'able it is, then thought better of it and simply removed it later on to avoid RMA issues?
Let's see if we can dig a little deeper and try and identify a trend here...
PLEASE ANSWER THE POLL QUESTIONS AS HONESTLY AS POSSIBLE AND THE POLL IS "MULTIPLE CHOICE".
