XPS paint mod suggestions needed...

okay guys i am really thinking of going ahead with it and doing some paint for my xps... getting another body of the laptop to paint and keeping the one stock, that way i can transfer the guts when i am satisfied with it and not be without my laptop even while i am painting...

so that leads me to the question... what colour do i paint it.... so many options.... hence the poll. vote up and lets see what you guys think. if you ahve a specific suggestion post it with a pic of the colour so we can see.

I think a red like attached below would be good, this is the paint scheme of a friend's pc and that is the jpeg he found somewhere...it's slightly disturbing to look at, but very eye-catching.

And that pic is the original, we don't know where it originates from

I think if you don't know what color you want to paint it, why would you paint it. If you are unhappy with the color and a particular paint scheme occurs to you that you want to have, then I'd say go for it, but make sure it's a color or scheme that you want.

edit: also I think the new XPS looks pretty sleek as it is.

The guy in town that paints my motorcycles does a killer bowling ball paint job, best I have ever seen actually. Think I will contact him to see how much he will charge to spray some laptop p[lastic for you freeks!

i voted blue... of course it depends on what shade of any color you get, but if you could find some paint like the blue on the wrx's that would be sexy.. if you could find the right color red that would be hot too.

I say gloss black with chameleon graphic in it but I dont know what the graphic sould be. XPS logo or you nickname or favortie game logo would be something I would suggest.

Gloss back with a logo would be hot... I don't think I would do a chamelon one though, maybe silver.

Fidget, you don't have a favorite color? I was going to vote for the color-shifting paint, but ckaplan's idea of white pearl sounds good too. I like a white pearl paint that reflects a gold finish, as opposed to a blue or iridescent reflection. I've seen it on some kind of euro-car or another...might have been an Audi.

its not that i dont have a favoruite colour... its just that i am not totally sure about putting that colour on my notebook. i was trying to get ideas from the community for it so i could get something really awsome instead of something just more normal....

i see a lot of people voted for colorshifting. that is a VERY hard job to do by hand. nearly impossible to make it look good without an airbrush.
