The least amount of RAM they let you get is 1GB...
If it isn't the gtx version of the 7800, what's the difference between the vanilla 7800 and gtx version?

You can get a 9300 with 100 gb 5400 plus 17" 1920X1200 Truelife with a 6800go for $600 cheaper. When you OC the 6800go on the 9300 it's faster than the 7800 offered with this computer. Check out the slow 3dmark scores the 7800 puts out in this link.

Why bother, get a 9300 plus a 7800GTX upgrade and this will still save you $400 more than letting Dell make a 9400 with a waterdown plain vanilla 7800.
you could always just flash the bios, and that should get you pretty much the same performance as a 7800gtx right?
easier to just go for the 9400

Can I ask you, how and when can you get that setup for $600 cheaper than the E1705 (9400?)?

I ordered my I9300 on Dec 30th for $1225 (shipping already included)
It comes with the P-M 2ghz, 1gb or RAM, 100HD 5400 RPM, 2200BG wireless, bluetooth, GeForce Go 6800, and 8X CD/DVD Burner.
For me to get the 100GB HD, the CD/DVD burner and NO bluetooth from the I9400, I would have to pay $1698. That's a difference of $473 dollars. I doubt i'll notice any difference worth that much.
What really gets me though, no bluetooth.......

I can't get the 750 off to work. If I could, I'd pull the trigger...if someone can help I'd appreciate it.

1) Has anyone any experience (links?) flashing 7800 to 7800 GT?
2) I thought the E1705 was the same as the 9400.. You guys are confusing me..

3).. Can't wait.. this lappy will be faster than my <1 year old desktop!.. I sure will miss running XP64 on it though.. I don't know about you guys, but all my software works great on XP64.. plus.. Half Life and Far Cry put out 64 bit patches..

1. check the begginner guides at pcstats.com
its funny cause ive been the one saying to flash it, and i just remembered you normaly need a floppydrive to boot it into dos to be able to flash the video cards bios...haha
2. E1705 is the code name for the 9400 in the home section (the one you can use coupons on) otherwise it is just a 9400
3. WHAT!? these brand new laptop processors dont even have 64bit enabled!?
No, the Core Duo does not have 64 bit. 64 bit is supposed to be included in the Merom processors which won't come out until the end of the year. Which is why I'm skipping Yonah and if I can't get a 9300 with some good coupons soon I'll just wait for Merom.

I really don't know if there is a GT, GTX or just 7800 GO but we can find it on http://www.cnet.com/4520-6022_1-6410042.html .

Dell's first dual-core laptop, the e1705, inaugurates the company's new "entertainment" line of laptops, complementing its existing "premium" XPS line. The e1705 will replace the Inspiron 9300 and will raise the bar on the type of specs you can expect to see in desktop-replacement multimedia machines in 2006. In addition to Intel's Core Duo T2400 processor, which contains two 2.0GHz cores, the e1705 will be equipped with the Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX GPU (also found in the XPS M170), a Serial ATA hard drive, and faster RAM and frontside bus (667MHz, compared to the previous generation's 533MHz speed). A high-end configuration of the e1705 will start shipping on January 16 for $2,299.
