Okay, so somewhere down the road, my windows xp product key sticker got pulled off. Is there some way that I could find it saved in my computer somewhere??
Thanks!!

Keep in mind that sometimes the key used to install your OS is not necessairly your key for the OS. Manufacturers sometimes use a bulk install key when they do their installs.

ONCE YOU GET YOUR KEY.... make a label with it, and put it somewhere safe on your laptop.. I have two copies of mine... one under the battery, and one under the hard drive caddy......

Similar to Neonhomer's suggestion, if you re-install your OS with the factory CD, it may not ask for the cdkey. Like my Dell for example, if I re-install XP Pro using any of the Dell XP Pro CD, it wouldn't ask me for the CDKey.

If you lost your CD key, you have to buy a new one. What you are buying from Microsoft is a key since you can get the media all over the internet, trial, or even thru most of the Microsoft self-study books.
