Toshiba 15.4'' Yonah with X1600 (A100-JH2) - Page 2

I saw that laptop at my local futureshop, I am looking at the m70 with 256megs ati x700 video card and the salesman show me that dual processor (centrino duo) The model they had was equiped with a small screen, something like 13/14 inches, girlfriend didin't like it so I move back to the m70...

Should I reconsider this model? maby I can find a version with a 15 inch screen. Is it reallly superior than the m70 with the ati x700?

the 14.1" version is the M100 series and has an Intel GMA 950 video card.. which sux, i wish it had the X1600 or even the X1400 or something cause the size is really nice.... I got the 15.4" version which is the A100, pretty much the Dual Core replacement for the M70's cause they are the exact same size pretty much... I was gonna go with a M70-SR6 then i decided on the dual core processor and the X1600 video.. 256MB of video ram is not that big a deal for me.. but the X1600 video is better than the X700 and even with 128MB of video ram, it really didnt make much of a difference in 3dmark05

The M100 (14.1") has the option on toshibadirect.com to have an x1300 or x1400 ati grfx card.

I was curious what your thoughts are on the Toshiba-Direct Custom Tecra A6?

It is available with the:
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M with 128MB DDR SDRAM

I know the Quadro NVS is new, and more designed for business applications, but how do you think it would compare to the M100 with the X1400?

Curious, because if they are close to equal I'll probably go with the A6. I do audio recording and having a 7200 rpm hard drive is essential.

I actually bought the laptop. The performance is freaking awesome. It is very light too about 3kg with battery.

However, the fan is located at the left hand side, and it is constantly blowing hot/warm air. Pretty scary if you suddenly rest your hands there.

Also, it came with a 9 cell battery, and it turns that laptop into a width equal to that of the 17 inch. Therefore, if you have a 15.4 inch bag, you will have to take out the battery.

The keyboard is rock solid. I remember few models of toshiba, the keyboard flexing is there, and making the typing experience really terrible. However, this model has no flexing.

Very sorry guys. the Stuff I put down for the 3dmark2006 was wrong. The result I posted below is right, and I did the benchmark with the original factory setting.

This is the score.
3DMark Score 1130 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 321 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 490 Marks
CPU Score 1323 Marks
