I don't know if this has been stated before, but I was on the net and having a look came across this article
This is the bit that interests me!
Is my understanding right on the following....
FSC-Amilo M3438G has a MXM Graphics card so the it should be upgradeable now if the Go 7800GTX uses the same pins and has a similar thermal output to the GO 6800 in my lappy, it would be possible in say a 1 or 2 years to up the GPU to the Go 7800 GTX without too much hassle. I would presume that this is dependant on the Motherboard inside the lappy being able to support the GO 7800 GTX. If this is true I can see a large portion of my money next year being spent on upgrades, best start savinig now. I can see a CPU upgrade and 7200RPM HD being bought also.
Thanks.

| From the perspective of mobile PC manufacturers, the Go 7800 GTX is a pretty easy transition, as Nvidia maintained the same pinouts for the Go 7800 GTX as used by the Go 6800. According to Nvidia, the thermal characteristics of the Go 7800 GTX are actually about the same as the earlier part, so laptop makers don't even need to re-engineer their thermal solutions. However, laptop makers are free to set core and memory clocks to maximize thermal and power management. |
