Fat32. I would reinstall anyway. I don't like all the crap manufacturers install by default.

Well I hope so. I will give it a second chance. Getting an RMA so I'll post back if its any better. I am pretty fussy about LCD. I mean its even worse than a my old CL56 - which doesnt have a great screen at all.

Course the res is nice and juicy. And yes I had brightness turned up full and messed around with the gamma. I'm hoping its just defective.

It's not a big deal to convert a FAT32 partition to NTFS. But, my bigger question is: does the system come with restore CD's/DVD's, or is there a restore partition? If there's a restore partition, is there an option burn to a CD/DVD and delete? I hate giving up space to such stuff...

wow, the screen must suck if it's worse than the CL56's. After using Sony's x-black glossy screens there's no going back to matte.

Not sure hot it works but it comes with Acer's data restore stuff. It was asking me to burn a backup CD on first boot.

I'd like to see a pic of the 8200 set next to an 8100. It looks thicker to me, and not as trim. Also, the new looks make it look more like a gaming machine, and less like an undercover gaming machine (as the 8100 is).

As for the specs though... WOW. This thing rocks. I was a little worried from the beginning though, that there would be some major defect in the first set (though I wasn't expecting it to be the screen).

Good luck to those who get the first ones. Any time you're dealing with newer tech, you always run the risk of more problems, due to less exposure.

Great notebook.
