Extended Warranty Still Possible?

Hey guys,

I got an XPS Gen1 and my warranty expired 10/27 of last year. Do you guys have any tips on how to extend my warranty still? I really need this warranty just in case any of my hardware fails. Do you think this warranty is worth it tho? Thanks fellas.

I read in the Dell website, that you can Not buy an extended warranty after the current warranty expires.

yeah, i called them today and they said you can't extend it. I guess i'm just wondering if anyone got around that policy and ended up getting one. i'm not trying to scam them and my inspiron XPS is in no way broken at all. I just want future protection because this laptop is gawd dang expensive yo.

Plus, is it even worth paying like 300+ dollars for 3 years protection? Thanks.

THe only way you can extend your warrenty is before the expired day.

I don't think 300+ is worth it, unless Dell runs out of replacement so that they have to give you the newer modle. My ideal warrenty time is two years; however, sometime the price between 2 years and 3 years are neligible so that you might want to get 3 years instead.

I have 4 years warrenty myself. Not because I need it, but becuase there was a price mistake an year ago that made 4 years at-home warrenty cheaper than one year mail-in warrenty.

I extended the warranty on my 9200 right before Christmas. It was $275 for 2 more years and they give you a $75 mail in rebate. So, $200 for 2 more years is pretty cheap if only for peace of mind. Hopefully I never have to use it.
