ok, so i'm interested in upgrading my dvd/cdrw drive in this notebook...

can anyone that owns one of these models tell me if they've successfully installed a different optical drive please?

if you have, what model?

i'm very curious, because the guys at ibuypower are tellin' me i can't get any other brand except for Mitac only...which i'm not sure if that's true or if they are just trying to sell me their brand.

i appreciate the feedback.

p.s. - the drive is a basic 12.7mm drive.
