Windows Live Messenger - Page 3

If anyone has a spare invite I would hugely appreciate it

If you could send it to larsson_oldfirm@hotmail.com, that would be awesome

I wasn't overly impressed with it. I prefer 7.5 with the messenger plus add in and the mess patch run on it.

Eh I've got... lemme see... 17 invites... I've used it for a while, there's a few nice features, but nothing too radically different. PM me if you want one.

Live Mail Beta on the other hand. Very nice, definitely beats Gmail, minus the fact that I almost never use my hotmail account anymore.

I was trying not to use hotmail anymore, but I'll use it again. But, I hate not beeing able to use my hotmail account in Outlook, Microsoft should make it POP3 compatible like Gmail. That will rock!

Outlook can see Hotmail accounts just fine. Which version of Outlook are you using?

Ok, you are right, I'm able to use Hotmail with Outlook, although I shouldn't, 'cause I'm not paying. I'm not sure, but the free hotmail accounts are not supposed to work with Outlook. My friends' accounts don't work, I don't know why my account does.

The point is, Hotmail works with Outlook (I'm using Outlook 2003) through HTTP, not POP3, and that sucks. HTTP makes my computers to hang almost all the time, sometimes Outlook just crash.

Now that WinLiveMail is giving us 2GB of space, Microsoft should allow us to acces it through POP3. I think that would be a lot better.

Yeah I haven't had too much time to actually play with the Live Mail, but it seems to be able to do a lot of the stuff Outlook 2003's got. (then again, I'm not all that familiar with Outlook) I mostly just want a nice web-based email client so I can access my email from any computer. The old hotmail was so damn clunky to use.

mjjb13@hotmail.com - I'd love an invite
are you guys using Live.com to access your livemail? it's a nice portal + email. I like the pane-type setup rather than the old hotmail way.
and yeah, LiveMail is excellent. very different from gmail.

i do still get pop3 access to my hotmail from outlook express.
