My sentia 12" laptop recently stopped shutting off the screen when it is shut, windows will recognize that the screen is shut and standby if i have it set to that, but if i have it set to nothing, it wont shut off, any suggestions?

I could be wrong but I bet if you took the battery out and unplugged it right before you shut the lid that it would turn off?

I don't know too much about this paticular problem, if it were me<<An' if you really want to run it with the screen down>> I'd just set the monitor to turn off after a few minutes of inactivity. Alternatively, I'd try flashing the BIOS to the latest version, an' see if that fixed it, be sure to have tech on the phone if you do so. Aside from that...I'm no expert. That's what I'd do. If you've the time, I'd try reformatting an' installing windows again, see if it's that<<more for my own curiosity though>>...but yeah, I don't really know what to do in this situation, having never encountered it myself. <<I'm sorry I don't have time to research it myself, homework calls, but keep us updated>>

Well, first of all, if you do have a Sentia from AW an' not a Uniwill standard, be sure to have tech online, otherwise, I'd just use the newest BIOS avalible to flash it, you'll be able to find it pretty fast with google, or off of the mothership.

Dont think there is a Windows option to only shut down screen when lid closes, best bet is to just set screen to shut down after a few minutes and disable standby on lid close, that will produce the desired result sorta...
