Battery icon, microsoft and NHC, not reporting correct battery life

Its wierd recently, my computer started incorrectly displaying the remaining battery life when I am on battery. Both the microsoft tool and notebook hardware control tool report my computer still being plugged into the ac when I am on battery mode, even after an hour of being so. Anyone know hoe to fix this, or is there something wrong with my battery?

Wierd... As a first step, you might try recalibrating the battery in BIOS: this will tell the computer your exact battery life and may help detect it, but it's just a guess on my part.

How do i recalibrate it, also the other thing is that i also have the swappable battery in, should i take that out first before i recalibrate?

In the BIOS menu, look around for "Recaliberate battery". What this does is that it drains your battery and recharges it to full, therefore recaliberating it. It might take a while though, so do this when you don't have to use the computer for a while I don't have a swappable battery myself, but I would take that out before recaliberating.

Actually yes i just saw it the other day. Customer sent it in claiming the battery is faulty. Obviously he explained and i asked if he resintalled windows. He said yes. Thinking there is nothing left and him being 1 day away via ground i sent him a return label. Gets back here. Same issue as you. We swap the drive with our test drive and everything is gravy. The problem here was obviously user error so we shipped it back at his expense becuase if he had installed windows the right way (he had his own) it wouldnt happen. Now he had many more soft issues but this same issue was one of them. Just to add this guy had everything modeed. I mean windows did not look like windows. There were over 55 proccess running and about 15 icons in the sys tray. Calling it user error is an understatement. I didnt even bother trying to figure out what soft was causing it.

-have you disabled any service you thought you didn't need?
-Is this your Windows install or the stock bloatware install?
