9750 LCD screen

Has anyone else noticed that the 9750's WUXGA screen has a very narrow view angle? Depending on my position, 1/3 of the screen will appear "normal," but the area above and/or below that 1/3 is slightly washed out. Also, color reproduction is slightly innacurate (darker and less saturated colors). Any thoughts?

Yes, I agree with everything you said. I'm always feeling like I need to try and brighten things. Even though the brightness specs are higher for this screen, I feel like my wsxga screen was a little brighter.

The left and right viewing angles don't bother me much, but the fact that there is a big difference in the verticle angles isn't good.

The screen is also very blue. There's no such thing as grey on this machine.

I still prefer this over the wsxga version because of the resolution, but it can definately be improved upon.

The stock monitor profile is way too blue. If you want, I can e-mail you my Spyder 2 calibrated ICC profile (standard 2.2 / 6500K). Just PM me your e-mail address.

Can you please email the profile you created to jabermian@yahoo.com please?

Thank you.

I tried chilled fresh's profile and it was really dark for some reason. I also tried many other profiles with little luck.

I did have very good results by doing the following....
Go into the nvidia drivers and drop the blue brightness down to 86%. That seemed to do the trick. Grays actually look gray. The colors still aren't quite bright enough, but they are at least more accurate.

Thanks. I tried it and it definitely helps, but the colors are still off a bit. If anyone else has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

if you find a good icc profile please post it here. I know my solution isn't perfect, but it's miles better than the default settings, imo.

Well those pictures that were put up showing the two screens together, the WSXGA does look a bit nicer, the colors look deeper and richer, however, I do want the really high resolution too. Wish we could have both high res and nice color.

One on the right is the WSXGA. The grass in the field looks ALOT better, and the start bar in the WUXGA looks bleached out, i'm guessing from the viewing angle deal. A real shame....

Dang, i might have to get a WSXGA

this has me worried, i ordered a laptop with the wuxga screen...was that a mistake?

It seems to be just like everything in this world, always some sort of trade off.

It's either higher resolutions, or better looking picture. If you want high resolutions then you made the right choice. If you want a nicer picture then you made the wrong choice. At least that's what I think, but until I see each one in real life I could just be talkin out my booty!

Very Odd, I have the WUXGA and it looks flawless.. I do not experience any of those issues.. I'm lucky I guess.

That's weird, I put my 9750 next to my brother's wsxga 4750 and my screen had the deeper colors with greater contrast. His appeared to be a little more washed out. Honestly, I didn't prefer one over the other. A median of the two would have been ideal.

That is a bit of relief...maybe it is just in the set up then.
