With all of the new technology coming out over the next few months, can we expect prices to quickly fall on current machines? This the first time I've shopped for a machine when so much new technology is coming out.

This is an awesome mouse with an excellent grip for a mid sized to large size hand. Right-handed, comfortable, trendy, upscale, red, responsive, functional, task oriented. Overall A+++

Expect flagship line to stay high, but lesser models will go down . However the prices are generally similar year after year, maybe after 5 years overall prices of laptops are much lower than before (and get a almost desktop-like spec) you'll get more for your money...the older models aren't reduced in the sales that much, considering when you put them side by side with the next gen models..
for example
£850 RRP for a Centrino 1.7ghz, 512MB, 60GB, with X600 128MB. 2005 model. Then when the next model comes along, £80 reduction so "sale price" £770
£850 for Centrino 2.5ghz, 1GB RAM, 100GB, X800 256MB.
You get the idea..not worth saving £70 considering you'll get a much better spec for only slightly more
