Ken,
I have noticed some of the foriegn models simlar to what is anticipated form thr Z96j have a WSGA+ screen resolution. ny chance there will be a verison or similar model with a WSGA resolution. My aging eyes strain to see the higher resolution. I REALLY want Asus core duo with x1600 graphics.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
I don't see any models in Asus's roadmap that has ATI X1600 with WXGA, but like I mention before, you can increase the DPI to 120 or use custom settings to change the icon and font size, it works pretty good for me.

does anyone know the difference between the A6JM and V6J other than the graphics card, it seems like the A6JM will be a much more bang for the buck than the V6J if there are no other differences....

I read a post by proportable you can swap of the Lamborghini screen with the v6va then you would have one heck of a laptop... (assuming the lamborghini doesn't have an IPS screen)

Then sell your v6va without IPS.

They wouldn't notice

IPS? Whats that?
IPS = In Plane Switching

Basically you can view the screen from any angle and it still looks as good as viewing directly. A bit like CRT Monitors...

I know, I own a V6va too, I was just saying how most people don't

Asus should make a gaming version of the W2V. AMD Athlon 64, 7800GTX 2 raid 0 hard drives at least a gig of ram etc.
That would be nice, but the specialty market is small enough as it is in the US [for now].
ASUS has been trying to force the Z83V out their doors, but there wasn't too much interest.
Maybe by next year things will change a little...

I'll tell you the one I'm interested in. A8JM. Any news on that one?
It will be available early May

Any news on the US release of the W3J?

release was set for april 16, but got delayed for 2 more weeks.

Most places are already sold out, there may be a few spots left to get one across USA... you gotta check.

Thanks,

Where can you pre-order in the US?

Thanks,
Brian
I got my pre-order in. First shipment from www.proportable.com. It will probably be in late april early may when it comes. Should rock though!
Pre-order or not, you can always e-mail us and ask to notify you when new products are listed.
We receive ASUS products the same time as everyone else...
So when will you get the W3J in then?
Any specs on the W3J or A8JM to indicate the brightness rating of the screen?
W3J and W2J are expected late this month... LCD specs are not really available, but expect it to perform similarly to the current W3V.
