all of them supports 7200rpm hard drives, Asus usually only put on the specs of what they've tested, I guess they don't stock 7200rpm hard drives in their warehouse.

also I've noticed all the new build-ons with Intel platform notebooks share the same batteries.

In addition to the Z96J and Z62J I've also seem mention of the S96J and S62J. Any info on these?

I think those are the global names for thoes notebooks. There's a comparison chart on NBR.

Yeah, I just found a link to an Intel site with info on compatible parts with these notebooks. VBI must stand for Verified By Intel.

http://www.intel.com/reseller/mobile/vbi/matrix.htm

It's interesting because the Z96J and S96J have different resolutions. Plus the S model doesn't make you pay for Bluetooth and TPM so they should be cheaper....should they not?
VBI notebooks are supported and warranty by Intel and it's more like a true barebones and has it's own SKU number for example Asus will have the SKU like Asu-VBI, some models with not come with KB or AC adapter and non of them comes with carrying case.

Any notebooks has VBI Sku will share the same KB, AC adapter and batteries even they are made by different manufactureres.

components has footnote 3 next to it will be Intel's Common Building Block part which is Intel's interchangeability initiative:

Any pictures yet of the Z96j?

Also, I know the release date hasn't been nailed down precisely, but if I'm deciding between the Z96j and the W3j, and I need to order before 5/19, is there any chance the Z96j will be readily available by then?
W3J available on May 5th-8th
Z96J end of May
Z62J next Friday
Can't wait to see some pics and reviews of Z96J.
all notebooks using Intel's Common Building Block components will look similar.
does anyone know what is the base price of the z62j?
Roughly a $100 more than the Z62F... not confirmed.
thanks. although unconfirmed, that sounds like a great deal. I am worried about the 7300go however. i havent found a good review of a notebook that uses that gpu. can anyone point me in the right direction?

we might just carry the Intel's VBI S96J instead of Z96F since S96J has GPU and the price is very good. we now have S96J on our website.
