what do guys think about the black oppose to the pearl white w5, is it nicer? stays newer cuz of da color or the complete oppposite?
The Black is very sexy...
Guys seem to prefer the black, while girls go for white...
Not that those trends should affect your decision, just get what you think is cooler.

I recently bought the W5 [black edition]... and I like it a lot.

Any one have a guess on what the battery life is going to be like on the W3J?

What's an IPS screen? And are there any more photos of the V6J available?
IPS = In Plane Switching. It pretty much makes viewing angles absolute, meaning at all angles, its the same view. Basically, it's an LCD Screen that looks like a CRT screen.

Only avaliable, in limited edition V6va's only

i immediately googled up what that was, makes me want to get a V6va with IPC right away, seems like a lot of people are getting this for the IPC screen

i like the black, but the white is really stylish and different, yet i don't like ibooks.. i'll prob hold out for the next generation of w5

maybe they are saving it for the asus lambhorgini, though i assume the lamborgini will cost a lot more then even the regular V6va

It's matte. The V6va is quite an interesting step forward, then back with the V6j. Perhaps the original aim for a business laptop of the V6v was pushed as a gaming for V6va, but then back to the main idea of business for the V6j?

Who knows!

I thought color shine was ASUS' name for glossy screens? Plus it looks glossy in the pics, but I may be wrong. At least on the v6 series the DVD drive is on the left.
Hmmm, interesting.

Colour Shine = Glossy indeed...
On the label it says color shine, the actual screen looks as glossy as Z63A, like a mirror. Check the piture, you can see the light on the celling clearly, because of the flash light from the camera, you don't see the picture clearly, when I set the brightness to max, I can see myself and the marker in the screen very well.

While the screen of the V6Va looks better, the CPU, RAM, and hard drive of the V6J is better. (Have I got this right?)
Wow, they changed the specs? I remember it was listed as matter before....?

you are probally right the lambhorgini would be nice if it was just the v6va with x1600 and dual core processor, then it can surely fit the lambhorgini name
post #56 of 419
V6's screen has always been glossy. It was on the V6V, and the V6Va, and I'd be really surprised if it was any different on the V6J.

That's correct, but the video card is also a lot better on the V6Va than on the V6J. For gaming, the V6Va is definitely the better choice.

In short:
V6Va wins in screen quality, and video card
V6J wins in CPU, RAM, and hard drive (and it has a blue lighted touchpad )

Well I'm using an overclocked 7800 GT atm, so I'm sure that any laptop GPU will not be an upgrade . But this laptop will be for my brother, who isn't into games, so all I want is a GPU with it's own dedicated memory.

Shame about the screen though. How much better is the IPS 15" screen than the non IPS screen? Anyone seen both?
The original V6v was not glossy, it had Crystal Shine but not Colour Shine I believe...

I own the V6va and the screen is amazing, and with the no dead pixel policy, dammmmmn!
A guess?
Why don't you just wait until ASUS confirms their specs first, then we can know what the battery life will be like...

so when is the w3J for the US supposed to come out exactly.....
