does anyone know what the prices on these new laptops are going to be like? i'm kinda worried...i remember seeing somewhere that the Core Duo's were supposed to be priced similarly to the current PM procs out right now. is it just me or does that sound like it will not hold true?

also a european review of the A6Ja had the price listed as sub 1300 GBP which is around 2300-2400 USD? i've always thought of getting a z70va mainly because its price can be configured to be in my range, but decided to wait out for the Core Duo's. anyone have any thoughts about this?

The first laptop is W5F 12.1 and it is a widescreen, the second one below is V6J and it's a 15" SXGA.

Is there going to be a dual-core version of the Z71v? I like the 15.4 inch (its the largest size that can fit in my backpack) with the nVidia card.

So far, the only 15.4 inch I see has an ATI card, and ATI doesn't play will with Linux...

Um... that's wrong but the ratio is right.
The W5 has a 12" lcd, so the that would be much smaller on that 15" panel.
Just FYI.

I know the W5 has 12" LCD, my point is the ratio.

Asus A7J? A7Jb? A7Jc?

I was wondering if any of you know the differences between these three models?
The A7J/b/c.
I think the A7J uses the T2300 1.66g, 512mb ram.
While the b/c use T2400 1.81g and 1gig ram?
Not completely sure though, can anyone offer some insight?
I think the b/c come with a build in TV tuner too, and blue tooth?
If anyone can gimme the model diffs that would be awesome, I really wanna get one of these.

A7Jb : http://www.asus.com.tw/products.aspx...08&modelmenu=1

Anyone have any idea if Asus is going to release Duo Core models with new designs? All of the new released ones are just refreshes of older models with beefed up parts. It's sorta a turn off that Asus would do that, their designs need some sprucing up! Carbon Fiber everywhere plz!
I feel like Asus is waiting for Merom to come out before they start making new designs for their notebooks...which would suck ass to the Yonah buyers who can't wait for Merom.

I guess ASUS can't satisfy everyone. Seriously some people are way too picky. IMO, Asus a few of the nicest looking laptops on the market right now (w2, w3, v6 series). Why change something that looks that nice? It probably also saves the consumer some money, seeing as Asus will not have to go through the process of complete redesigns.
