Thoughts on the Apple Incase Sling pack?

hello, the only apple product i own is a 30G w/ video ipod.

i am a windows user, so don't hate.

i'm curious if anyone here knows if this bag will work w/ pretty much any 15" notebook that's not an apple?

cool design, i'm looking for a sling type backpack for my laptop and this is like the only one i've come across.

thx for the feedback!

personally i think the sling cases may be just a fad. after my first messenger bag for my old compaq laptop i moved to backpacks and haven't regretted it. if u want to shuffle the bag back and forth from shoulder to shoulder bc it gets uncomfortable after carrying a moderate amount of weight over a moderate amount of time, get a messenger or a sling bag. does that sling allow u to change the strap alignment or is it designed for just one side?

if u want something that will distribute the weight more evenly go for a backpack. i just got Kensington's saddlebag ultra which is both a messenger and backpack. mostly i'll use the backpack, but in the summer when i'm out and about on my bike the messenger funtion will be nice. 80-plus degree weather + bike riding + backpack = more sweat than i'd care to carry into the local coffee shop or whatnot.

just my 2 cents

heh, that's funny, i'm actually looking to upgrade from my previous Kensington saddlebag as well! i was using that as a backpack and it helped a lot w/ balance from just a regular side strapped bag i was also using.

i have two problems....

1. unfortunately one strap has already ripped, and i do not want to badge it up.

2. when i have it on my back, it's quite bulky, it's hard to fit into a full elevator w/out hitting the person behind me.

if it didn't rip,i'd still be using it...but there comes a time when we must...move on.

i'm looking for somthing sleeker, not as bulky and pretty much just house my notebook, i don't need it for books, etc...

i'd also like to get a Shinza sleeve and put it inside that sling pack.

i'm not sure if you can switch the placement of the straps, but looks like it goes on the side i'd be wearing it anyway.

hey triadone, how is your Pioneer DVR working out for you? i was interested in getting the DVR-k05 slot load burner for my notebook...just curious how the product is..?

i got mine for x-mas and was particularly impressed w/ the "lifetime guarantee" mentioned on the tags. i'd see if u can get a replacement, then if u wanted u could pick up another bag. i tend to have at least 2 laptop bags for different purposes, usually one for the carry-everything-you-have category, and then one for the iBook-and-a-few-extas bracket.

the pioneer has been great, i've done cd-r dvd-r and dvd-rw without a coaster to speak of. even so i'd check some of the reviews if any r available, to look into how well it can read/write to different media.
