My wife has a 300mhz Blueberry iBook it is running OS-X Jaguar and has 288mb of ram. I just upgraded my dvd / cd-rw drive to a dvd-ram in my toshiba laptop. Could I put the combo drive in the iBook? If not could I put a dvd drive from a KDS computer in it? She really want's to be able to play movies with it and I have those drives laying around the house.

Right now it just has the cd rom that came in it. She wants to play movies and I figured if I could put the burner in there it would be a bonus.

Ok I tried it in there and it worked perfect but I can't put the faceplate on it and she doesn't want to use it if it don't look original. Is there any way to get the faceplate on there and have it work? It looks like the button is in a diffrent spot.

that was my next question, whether the faceplate lines up w/ the old one. u might be able to jerry rig it, but it would be better to have a similar drive (button placement).
