not sure you should be removing stuff if you dont really know what your doing.

but to help you out, anything that says "media experience" or "toolbar"

dump it.

most stuff you can tell you need, like the intel stuff keep, adobe, and that likes.

if you can get me a screen shot of all the programs installed, ill tell you exactly what to remove safely.

just open add/remove, maximize it, hit alt-printscrn. then open paint, hit control-v, and save as a .jpg file.

email me the file at chevyrulz099@yahoo.com.

ill email the file back to you with everything you dont need Xed out.

I just format and reload the drivers from the Dell driver CD. Runs so much faster after all the dell crap is removed

I agree, I always reformat and install fresh. Of course, last time, with the 9300, I found that the Dell Media Experience stuff wasn't available for download and install, but only in the Dell image. Pretty lame, but in the end, the Dell Media Experience really wasn't all that great anyway. I don't miss it.

Get ahold of Dell, tell them that your utility partition is messed up and you cant re-install Windows. They will overnight you your OS and driver/apps.

Well, I just got my i6k too. I sent them the template letter that was on the link that Nhan posted. This is what they responded within 2 hrs:

Thank you for contacting Dell's Online Customer Service for our Faculty, Student and Staff customers.

I understand that you didn't receive the CD's under your order number xxxxxxxxx. Please accept my sincere apologies for the difficulty you have encountered in this regard.

I appreciate the opportunity to assist you in resolving your concern.

Mr. xxxxxxx, Dell has introduced a Media Reduction Initiative (MRI) that is an environmentally targeted initiative designed to reduce the cost and waste associated with excess documentation and media shipped with our systems.

Dell is replacing the information electronically on the customer's hard drive. By implementing an electronic means of accessing the Owner's Manual and online PC restore solutions, Dell is reducing waste, eliminating cost, and providing the user with a much better customer experience.

However, in recognition of the fact that you are a valued customer to us, I have set up an order request for the following CD?s to be shipped to you.

Windows Media Center Edition 2005
Application Backup
Drivers and Utilities Resource
Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0
Cyberlink PowerDVD
Sonic MyDVD
Word Perfect Suite 12
Quickbooks 2005 Simple Start Edition

Once your order is completed, it will be shipped to you Next Day Air to the address provided below:

MRI = Media Reduction Initiative? For reduction of waste? HA! Well, I got what I wanted. I'm happy! Thanx for your help everyone.
