See above. I get 10% off but do other schools get a bigger discount? List your discount here if its different.

I've only received 10% except on Applecare which is a generous discount.

i haven't been to college for over a year now, but i still have my student ID, do you guys think apple will verify if i still go there or they just won't bother ??
i pretty much heard you dont even have to be in college, you just need to choose one and not need to verify it. but im not totaly sure if this is true.
it is true. they dont verify nothing. just choose a school either way we are overpaying for the item.

We have 15% discount at our school.

is it even % based? i thought they just had flat amounts they discounted. i.e.- 12" iBook = $100, 15" PB = $200 or so. i don't think the rates change from place to place if you're an apple academic reseller, i think u are told what the discounted prices are.

i think your right, i looked at prices yesterday and saw they all varied

im positive its % based because you can take 10% off of anything like an ipod or the powerbook and it will go to the price listed after the discount is put on.

in duluth the stuff is priced so that some is off, the ipods are 10% i know so the ipod video 30gb is 269.99 but the laptops i think are less off.
here in newyork its 10%off of everything
it depends on what it is. for example the 12" PB is 1499 regular price and $1399 academic. what's 10% of 1499? 149. how much do u get off? 100. same for the 12" iBook where u effectively get a 5% discount on the base model. Tiger? $129 retail w/ almost a 50% discount @ $69 academic. other accessories and stuff i think are more uniform for the discount. i.e.-apple display adapter.

do your math ppl
