How to overclock radeon 9000?

I have a new 8886 and am really interested in overclocking my video card. How do I do it? I read some in another thread about some optimized drivers. How do I put a new driver on and which ones? Please help me. I want to learn how to do this. I'm running windows XP with 2.53Ghz, 512 MB RAM, and 5,400 RPM 40 GB.

Is there a free way to do it? I noticed the PowerStrip looks like it costs $29.95. Are there some better drivers that I can install to "up" the performance? Also, is increasing my video card performance gonna take away from another part of my system?

You can download the powerstrip demo/free version. The only functionality you need is to change clock speeds.

One question I had... if you change a setting like that and then uninstall powerstrip, will the settings reset to default? Also, if you don't run the program in the background, will the settings reset to default?

Thanks!

IIRC Power strip just change card bios. If you uninstall it last setting should be kept...

What performance improvement do you get with overclocking? I know my Sager runs pretty hot sometime, so will that put it over the edge of a thermal meltdown? Does anyone have any benchmark score?
