Windows cannot access Documents folder

I tried installing the FEAR 1.02 patch on my brothers PC and I got an error to do with MPcustomizations. Anyway, I tried to access the Documents folder where FEAR saves the user files and it said access denied. I'm sure this is why the patch won't install correctly. Does anyone know why the folder won't give me access? This folder is called shared documents on my laptop and Documents on my desktop.

Probably due to NTFS access restriction.

Are you trying to send a file over a network? Has the Documents folder been shared to the network?

If you are logged in as an Admin:

Got o folder options in control panel -> View -> disable simple file sharing.

Then right click the folder, properties and make sure your loggin is added to the sharing.
