How to optimize laptop for speed? (asus z70v)

Just did a fresh install of windows and now I am getting about 8 seconds slower on a SuperPI test (with less processes running).

Any tips on how to optimize for speed?

I have an Asus z70v with 512 ram and 1.73ghz pentium M

8 seconds slower than...

[edit] Ah stupid me. Just realized you meant then the old Windows install... you could try running it again, I'm sure there is some uncertainty in the value.

Let's put it this way...

do you FEEL a performance difference? If not, then there's nothing to worry about...

Try disabling unneeded services (search for black viper services) in google.
