it's not out yet. it is 939 and runs @ 2.6 ghz w/ duel core...runs on less voltage therfore in theory u should be able 2 use it in ur d900....this is something that I am looking in to as well

The FX-60 was released today: its benchmarks are insane AND it is socket 939.

However, as far as the d900k goes, they don't support the FX series chips (for some odd reason). Perhaps they shall soon.

Are you sure? Hypersonic sells theirs with an FX chip as does Alienware.

Yeah I read about it Anandtech just now, looks like about a 10% increase over the 4800+ I have, I will probably just wait till the prices come down before I pick one up. Looks good to me though.

Nearly 100%. AW and HS are _NOTORIOUS_ for stuff like this. Just two days ago i read a review of somebody who purchased a widow pc for like 5 grand with an fx-57 in early december, hoping to get it for christmas. He called them shortly before christmas and they returned saying that the laptop doesn't support the FXs, he'd have to settle for an X2... etc.

So, in short-- ive yet to see a d900K ship with an fx. Perhaps its possible as of very recent -- but as of about a week ago, it wasn't.

I hope its possible. I want to order a 9750 soon and having the FX60 in it would be awesome.
Can anyone from PCtorque comment on this?

the only thing ic the fx 60 as more of a posibility than the fx 57 due to the fx 60 using less votage

same socket, so i would suspect they will...

It would seem to be that simple, right? But apparently something went bonkers @ clevo and its tough to do :-/

FX-60 is a dual core chip, unlike it's slightly faster FX-57 little brother. I'm betting it will eventually be a 9750/D900k option.
