notebook bag

personally i like the Targus laptop messenger bag, the yellow/ black/ gray one, its plenty big enough to hold anything that you could throw at it, and it also has a certain style to it that i like, but thats just my, plus it really comfprtable when you carry it around. plus it has pretty good protection

IBM laptop bag here, from my girlfriends r32 that she bought 2 years ago, and i bought her a Kensington bag and gave me this one... the "pads " inside are air filled pouches which absorb a shock from a fall. I unwillingly tested this bag when i dropped it down a half a flight of stairs at work with my i6kd in it, and my laptop came out unscathed. It fell pretty hard too. . The sides of the bag are filled with a flexible plasic that helps prevent punctures, and spreads the force of a hit to the back and the sides of the bag.

i have the icon 2.0 and with the xps m170 it won't fit in the laptop compartment in the back. i tried it with my friends laptop and the biggest laptop we could get in there was a 15.4 incher and that was even tight. so unless you plan on putting it in the center section, your s.o.l, but just as a reagular backpack it's really nice comfortable too.

Looks like this thread died but I want to keep it going. I have a M1710 on the way so I have been checking out new cases/messenger bags/backpacks and am curious to know what people have found to use with the new m1710's as well as the M170.

That IBM bag listed above is pretty sweet. I just got a Lenovo yesterday and got that bag as well. The absorbers inside are very nice for accidents. It would be a great bad if you only carried a laptop in it. Otherwise, that bag barely carries the laptop and the power cord. Not much extra space in that case.

I have a Targus bag I currently use. It has a bunch of cool features like a cd sleeve, cell phone case, Ear phone holes, etc. I got it at best buy for about 75.00

I have been looking at Ogio bags. I have seen one at www.jinx.com that is pretty sweet but not sure about dimensions.

Also Alienware has a few bags that I have checked out. Anyone using an Alienware bag?

What about the Oakley SI Computer bag will that not hold a M170/1710?

Maybe I should just order 100 custom bags from Ogio and sell them to other M1710/M170 users.

I have recently come to realize that my Samsonite Sports Pack that holds my 9400 and various other items is just not gonna cut it. It, by the way is the exact bag you get if you order the dell backpack, it's actually a Samsonite with the Dell logo stuck on it. I posted about this quite awhile back.

Anyway I think I am going to have to embarass myself and get one of them "Mobile office" laptop bag deals with the wheels. KNow any good ones?

I want one for my laptop, binder, and a thick book or two.

I have been leaning toward the Jinx messenger bag. I think I can pick at the thread on that stupid skeleton logo and get if off. Not very professional to have a lame looking skeleton on a bag in an office building.
