Apples already over priced and underspec'd and the PC makers have already "speed bumped" Apple.

great, the "diss macs without thinking" has already begun...er, continued...
personally i couldn't pull up any prices for the acer, but their top end 8xxx systems typically go for around $2299-2499, w/ the low end usually being maybe $1999. how are they out-selling apple again given the lighter weight and smaller size of the MacBook?
it's funny how anyone who gives a sh!t about mobility in a notebook, or has a clue about the various brackets of notebooks, knows u pay a price for less weight and thinner form factor of the machine yet this sort of stuff gets spit out the second a "new and improved" mac comes out. give me a break. u'd look at form factor and price within PC brands (sony, dell, toshiba, samsung all have their pricey "under-powered" thin laptops) but u don't even bother to account for that in a Mac? lame. give credit where credit is due. that's one sweet ass system for a TRUE 1" notebook w/ a 15" screen. now if someone rolls out the exact same specs in a nearly identical form factor, then you BEGIN to have an argument. until then, keep looking for excuses to undercut a mac.

btw, the 9.5mm optical drives (currently 4x) are used in windows systems as well, perhaps u should point them out since you're "just comparing specs". it's also pretty clear that wedge shaped notebooks enable makers to claim a thinner form factor than they actually have. again throw the same equipment in a truly 1" acer and see how it pans out for specs and price.
