Think they'll wait long before they put it in a laptop?

That is only .2 mhz faster than 4800 and same as FX 55 but with dual core. If it were 2.8 with dual core I might consider dumping my FX 55 with my ALX rebuild.

yea its supposed to be really fast, faster than any dual core or single core for that matter. seems like a good option to put in when you do your rebuild.

I'm with DB, they should have put a little bit more into it. Should have been clocked at 2.8 minimum. It's a nice chip but at $1400 its not worth it over current Opterons and X2's at half the price. Guess we'll see how well it overclocks, then I might change my mind.

When it comes out, it may bring the other x2's down a little in price...I hope

It is like all AMD processors they dot play the mhz game like Intel. .2 on a amd is like 400 on a intel. google ther chip their are alreadya couple benchmarks out their, it is the typical increase and will shows its power even more over the next few weeks as things are optimized for the fx dualcore.

Remember it's an FX so the multiplier is upwards unlocked...

And where are the Mobile Dual Core processors?
