Which Asus Notebook Should I Get?

I am currently a college student and I am looking to buy a notebook with my tax return money. The problem is I don’t know what I should get. I am looking for a laptop that can be used for school but will still be able to play some games. It also needs good battery life for in class use and road trips. I do not want to spend more than $1,500. Any help would be great.

Take a look under the Built on ASUS section.

Would you like an 12" Ultraportable [Z33Ae], 14" WideScreen [Z63A], or a 15.4" Widescreen [Z71 / Z70]...?

The Z33A is a nice lappy, if you want cheap and top of the line a year or so ago get one of the S5n's they still have, they wont be around for that much longer, Asus stop producting them for the dual spindled ultra portable. But i prefer 2.8 lbs as opposed to 3.3lbs. hehehe every ounce counts when you have to lug it all the way across campus!

I would rather have a 15" inch screen rather than 12". I plan on getting this backpack called the contour which is extremely comfortable so weight will not as much of an issue.

Next question to answer then, will you be gaming?

mmmm weight is still an issue, i use to use a back pack as well when i luged around my 12lbs lappy, and my 6lbs lappy. Now with my 2.8lbs one the notebook i carry with me is heavier.

I prefer a messanger style bag now, and i have my laptop in it, along with a notebook. Usually a paperback book as well. Very easy on the back.

I will be gaming but I do not need a top of the line video card. I like to play some MMORPG's and 1st Person Shooters like BF2.

If you're playing Battlefield 2, you need a good graphics card. The two that would work for you are the Z71v & Z70va. The Z71v runs cooler & quieter and is less expensive, and the Z70va looks nicer, has slightly better graphics performance, and a better screen.

Well you said two magic words... 15" and BF2: Z70Va.

I think the Z71v is the laptop for me. Its in my price range and I should have enough graphics performance for my needs.

Sounds like a winner.
