Linkage.

I was checking on something this morning for someone and didn't see this, then this afternoon it popped up, so I'm assuming this happened today.

Looks like it went from XP Home to MCE, but that might be a misprint since I thought MCE PCs had to have a TV Tuner or somesuch. I seem to remember the x600 in the 7515 was 64/64, and if it was then the 7525 is an upgrade with 128/128. Other than that, I don't see any real differences.

well you don't need a TV tuner to have MCE (2005, 2004 required one), but we'll have to see if thats an error or not.

IIRC MCE is actually cheaper for OEM's to licence than XP Home

Ah, thought there was something to that idea. Didn't realize it was 2004 specific. Except for joining a domain, I don't think Pro has anything that MCE2k5 doesn't, so that would certainly be a nice upgrade.

hmmmm...

yah 2005 you can't join a domain, thats all. 2004 they built entirely on Pro, but they removed the domain function for 2005 since they want to push MCE so much but still give people a reason to buy Pro.

requirements for 2005 got looser than 2004, making some things not required. thats why you can buy 2005 by itself (sort of)

You can easily tweak MCE 2005 though to allow it to join a domain.
