For games, the Pentium M is neck-to-neck with the AMD64FX. However, the AMD leaves the Pentium M in the dust when doing simple multi-tasking or encoding/compiling operations. Plus, the AMD is 64bit. But for a laptop, Pentium M will definitely provide you with much better battery life.
