Hey guys, I was wondering what everyone uses for antivirus software. I'm debating on what to get and I'd like some actual reviews of different antivirus solutions.

Thanks,

I use a Mac. No antivirus software!

Actually on my 9300 I use antivir.

You can find the answer to your questions in the sticky "best freeware software"

AVG- free, regular updates, not resource/memory intensive.

I've been running Kaspersky. It definately catches the viruses.

I put my vote to Avast! as well. I used to use AVG, but changet to avast! since it works better with Kerio fW (in my setup at least). Do you use firewall software in your notebooks? I've been thinking of getting rid of that mf... Maybe use win Xp firewall...

Try Zone Alarm for firewall.

Just got rid of Norton and went with NOD32. Very nice small footprint av. Has won alot of awards for 100% detection. It does daily auto updates as well.

LOL are you connected to the internet? I don't care how careful you are there are things that can get you with NO warning. I'm very careful too, and I know what you mean, but NOT having a AV is like in a prison shower. I personally use the corporate norton AV, it is free to me as a govt employee, and free is good. I strongly advise EVERYone to use a good AV program and to use some anti-spy/adware, and a good firewall is nice to add on top of that for a bit more added security. If you have a wireless network in your house, also learn how to make that secure, it won't keep out the dedicated bad guys, but it will keep out the casual snoopers.

lol thats on my home computer. Here at work I use Norton...and i keep a tight watch on our email and net activity. At home I know exactly whats going on with my connections. I check my programfile folder, windows folder etc for unusual folders, alwasy going though msconfig, temp files etc. Only reason i dont run an antivirus is I've never had a virus the way I doing it now. Yes i do scan once a month...

I was a fan of Trend Micro untill I got a virus and it didn't detect it. I uninstalled it and installed AVG and the free antivirus did a better job. I now use Norton 2006 and it finds everything, with very little slowdown on my PC.

Like Phriend, I don't use Anti Virus Programs. I have a Desktop, which runs almost 24/7. It's protected by my router's hardware firewall. Also i keep Win 2000 up to date. I installed the OS 13 month ago, and do far had no virus problems at all.

Of cause im careful, i dont download executable files from p2p or from sites i don't know.

On my laptop I us a software firewall. Also my wi-fi at home is encrypted.

This worked fine for me so far, but perhaps i reconsider this when the first virus gets in and up my system.

Yea G. I use my routers firewall at home and a small ip monitor my friend made. Im looking at a new laptop very soon so this will all probably be changing soon.
