Does anyone know the model number or specs for the Presario v2410 screen? Or any way to identify screens generally? I'm interested in the response time.
It really pisses me off that computer makers won't tell you exactly what they put in their computers. I just installed Linux in my computer, so it was really vital that I find out. Right now you can buy v2410 computers for $850 from Best Buy, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc, so I imagine that a lot of people are buying this model and want to know the specs. I had to open the damn box up to identify a lot of the stuff, although dmidecode, lspci, and hdparam -I commands helped in Linux. Installing Linux was painful--you can read about it at: http://mypage.iu.edu/~abatto/essays/...paq-v2410.html
Here is what I figured out about my v2410 that I bought from Circuit City on Dec 10, 2005:
AMD Turion 64 processor ML-28+ with PowerNow! 1.60GHz, 35W, 2.2V
Quanta chasis and motherboard 3093 ver 47.0E (according to dmidecode)
Phoenix BIOS F.13
2 x 256MB DDR SDRAM 333MHz (ProMOS V58C2256164SCT6 SO-DIMM)
Both memory slots used; maximum memory 2048MB
(128MB used by graphics card, so only 384MB RAM available)
ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 200M graphics with 350MHz, 2 pipelines,
and 128MB shared memory (BIOS can set to 64MB or 32MB)
(200M is based on the X300 but has fewer pipelines and no memory)
ATI IXP AC'97 integrated sound (on Conexant AC-Link Audio)
Conexant RD01-D620 integrated 56K AC'97 softmodem and fax with SmartCP
Fujitsu MHV2080AT PL 80GB Enhanced IDE 4200rpm hard drive
Pioneer DVR-K15 DVD±RW/CD-RW Dual Layer
(DVD: +RW 8x, -RW 6x, ±RW DL 4x; CD-RW 24x)
14.0" WXGA High-Definition BrightView Widescreen (1280 x 768) display
(No stats available, but probably has a slow response time)
Broadcom BCM94318MPG (Rev 4) 54g integrated 802.11b/g wireless LAN
with 125HSM/SpeedBooster support
RealTek RTL-8139 NIC for integrated 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN
External ports:
3 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0
Notebook expansion port
Firewire IEEE 1394 (4 pin)
RJ-45 connector (10/100Base-T Ethernet)
RJ-11 connector (56K Modem)
Texas Instruments 6-in-1 Digital Media Reader for Secure Digital cards, MultiMediaCard,
Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, SmartMedia or xD-Picture Cards
(Probably uses the TI PCI7421 chip, because needs TIFM21 driver in MS Windows)
S-Video
VGA (15 pin)
Stereo In and Out plugs
1 Type I/II PC Card slot
Dimensions: 13.15" (L) x 9.1" (W) x 1.29" (H) (min) or 1.53" (H) (max)
Weight: 5.38 lb.
Altec Lansing speakers
Kensington Lock
6 cell Lithium-ion battery (HSTNN-LB09)
