19" widescreen dual Go 7800 SLI notebook announced! - Page 4

Got pretty intrigued by this bad boy so i did some searching and found one on a website in Denmark. Unfortunatly i can't read dutch. I assume that it is for pre-orders. Some interesting tidbits, the clearly say that it uses the 7800GTX, available in SLI as an option. For fun i maxed out the lappy, if you can call it that, with a 3700 Turion, 2GB ram, 100GB HD, 2x7800GTX's and a burner and it came out to $4800 US.

Here's the linky

And just how much faster will it be than a $2700 Clevo D900T/K or a M570A or even an XPS M170 for that matter? Probably not a whole lot. I'm sure some benchmarks (low-res, no AA, that type of thing) will actually be slower. Don't get me wrong, I love my SLI, but the whole point of laptops is not to blow away everything. Thats like having a nuclear warhead in a pistol.

It is unlikely but possible that this might be one of the new Yamato designs, meaning dual core Turion and possible Nvidia chipset (which would stand to reason if it's SLI). There could be a lot more to this notebook than just the SLI.

Finally a notebook screen with a fast response, Nvidia chipset, and AMD mobile dual core, and to top it off dual 7800 GTX? Sign me up!

This is insanity, absolute insanity if this is true.

For the cost of a "desktop replacement" I was able to build a kick-ass desktop and buy a Sager 3880. an 19" in not portable anyway, might as well build a desktop.

I can't imagine using anyhting bigger than a 3880 as a "laptop."
