Hey, I guess I'm the 2nd Electrician on here, except I'm a military one (AFSC: 3E031, yes I know, I'm still a 3 level, damn Army deployment interrupting my upgrade training!). Did you go thru the tech school at Sheppard AFB? The Navy had a few people going thru 1/2 of our school, Army has like onesis that go thru just the pole climbing blocks.
The USAF electrician does pretty much the same stuff a civilian electrican does, except we do a lot less installs. Mostly small petty stuff like "we want an outlet/switch/light here" and maintenance. Big installs are almost always contracted out.
I doubt anyone can get in right now, since the carrer field is way over manned, plus they're speaking of shedding 40,000 Airmen pretty quick here! Good thing I'm in till 2009, might be able to let it blow over!
