Thread Starter
hI there , i bought a zd8150 a few monthes ago ,
i love it very much allthgouh ive had some issues with the ati (hp) drivers on some games.
anyway , everything is fine since i downloaded the omega drivers with the ati tool and found the right presets for every game.

anyway , my question is: does anyone know of a fan control software of some sort.
i dont remember the fans being so loud when i just started to work on it ..
and today its pretty loud and allmost never shuts off..
anybody has a tip on how to avoid this?

I was going to ask you to use the Omega. I guess you are already using it.

Anyway, somebody here has already asked about fan control. I don't think there is a control to access the hardware level from HP, unlikey other vendor like Dell.

The Omega driver you are using can really push your ATI card to the limit. Have you try rolling backup to HP ATI driver to see if the fan problem would go away?

Haven't tried this myself, just discovered it a few days ago.

With Notebook Hardware Control you can easily control the hardware components of your Notebook. Notebook Hardware Control helps you to:

-
prolong the battery lifetime and cool down the system with CPU Voltage Control and ATI Clock Control.
-
full processor speed control with custom dynamic switching and CPU Speed Control (CPU policy)
-
monitor the battery charge level and system temperature.
-
control and monitor the Hard Drive with S.M.A.R.T management, acoustic & advanced power management and Hard Drive temperature monitoring.
-
reduce noise with Notebook FAN Control.

Info: Notebook Hardware Control works on all Notebooks with Intel CPU's.
Some features are only available on newer PentiumM CPU's (Centrino).

No, but given the choice I'd rather read about "fixes" to problems, tips, or reading about usefull apps than seeing "pics" of peoples computers due to the bandwidth pics take up. Bandwidth costs money you know :-) The mods have the power to move this thread to the proper section. Once they see it they will move it.

BTW: To the orginal poster, you're going to get better response if you post in the forum related to your model, plus the responses will help more people in the long run that may be having the same problem looking for info later on if you do post in the correct forum.

PS, please when talking about a certain driver or program state the verison number, or the file name.
