Well, it only seems like a 7-10% increase in performance. I don't know if that increase is worth the 40% or so premium in price.

Luke, AMD had also reduced the prices of its processors in Jan. Will it be reflected in the pricing?

Thanks

Luke does this mean a new bios will be released for those that purchased early when there were still incompatability issues with the FX chips?

Luke - an FX-60 in a notebook, hard to imagine!

Can't wait to see benchmarks from those who will get it. I don't have enough money for something like that heh!
..neither do i. prolly expect a 10% increase over the 4800 benchies, as per the hexus.net review. i'll wait till the next year when the chip is priced a lil more reasonable then i'll swap it.

Ha...it was nice owning the King of The Hill...

Cool, I was hoping that we could just use it as a drop in replacement, just need to find someone to purchase my 4800+ in a few months . . .
Yeah, straight drop in and the FX-60 uses less voltage than the 4800+ so may be a tad cooler.

According to Anandtech, the FX-60 is the LAST Socket 939 cpu released...

I mean, we *just* got the 9750 and the 939 is on its way out thru the window.

i really need to sell my latop before my older brotehr goes to the us...
so i can buy this new baby!!
Well we knew that the 939 was going away, nobody was really sure that there would be an upgrade to the 4800+, we just kind of hoped there would be.

relax...be happy you have 939 with SSE3....i am on 754.... is there any way to upgrade?

Only to another S754. Can't change sockets.

All the dual-cores are on S939.

I believe the fastest S754 is 3700+, anyone confirm?

I see you guys are right on top of it in terms of performance, but when you are going to jump on the bandwagon for keeping up with looks? No laptops look as sweet at the Smooth-painted babes. Will you company honor the warranty if a customer sends their system to Smooth to loving customization?

There is a new 4000 plus on a Newark core that is socket 754. Not supported according to Sager and Clevo as of 2 weeks ago. That may have changed as Cyberpower is offering it in one of there laptops.
