I wanted to publicly thank Joe for hosting the file. I was always glad to send the Service Manual to anybody that asks, but this is just the easiest solution for our 8890 community. Thanks very much Joe!!

ARW,

Any chance I could also get you to send the service manual to me through email as well? I need to replace my DVD with DVR-K06 on my 8890 and fix my LCD inverter as well. Thanks.

Hi, will someone be so kind to drop me this marvellous service manual at : heavybabar at hotmail dot com (heavybabar@hotmail.com) !
I'm actually in a nightmare as i'm trying to build a 8890 system with 2 optical drives and two hard disk (one behind battery the other in place of the TV tuner - 3rd HD bay).
Problem seems to deal with enabling or not the Fastrack raid in the bios. Without enabling it, my old XP or linux on HD behind battery boot ! But while linux report access to the 3rd BAY, XP does not and don't see the first optical drive behind the floppy....?

Ooops ! Sorry to bother the arena !
I've missed the link posted Draven. Thanks guy.

Humm...at least, wondering about a bios update, the one i own seems to be D8R05.ROM...
Does anyone hold something more to date ?

Thanks for all, awesome community.

Hi Judy, the only link I have that *might* help is:
http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/Archiv...ual/index.html
I dont know if the 8500 or the 85P there are the same as your np8550 (they use Eurocom model #'s which can be very close to Sager, and sometimes not ), but you should be able to download the manuals and tell quickly if it matches (links at the bottom of the page are active, top are dead). Since you mentioned RAM, a quick Google linked:
http://www.memoryx.net/saminpme92.html
If anything you can take the RAM specs and match it to your fav memory vendor if they dont have your model in their RAM selection wizards. HTH, take care, Andy

I have the service manual (9.45 mg in PDF format) and the user manual (4.62 mg in PDF format). Willing to send to anyone who needs it.

I need help finding the LCD rails that attach to the hinges. The extended warranty I have on the unit was declined by Philips because they say I abused the lid (Nonsense!). They also say the rails are part of the hinge assembly and therefore not covered (More nonsense!). You'll see by the service manual that the rails are not part of the hinge assembly, but part of the LCD itself, at least according to the manual that is.
