Hi Sir, I can't make the mouse cursor moving either. We will review this feature.

Okay cool,

I emailed Avermedia and they are going to contact Sager and find the model tv tuner that is included in the 4780 and find out why we arnt able to get some of these things to work.
good work, we'll get to the bottom of this! it will be so nice to be able to cursor around with the remote, hate having to go back to my computer to change winamp tracks!
Are you guys able to change the volume and channel with the remote for AVER Studio? I can only turn the laptop on and off. It seems some of us can do more than others with the remote.
In the AVer TV Studio program, I can change the volume and channel. Do you have QuickTV running in your system tray?
Yes, I do have the quick tv program running in the background. But volume and channel buttons do not work. I am confused as to why some can at least get volume and channels to work but I can't. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the darn drivers and program 3 times.
they only change the volume in the TV program, and it changes the channels of the TV program, but thats it.

This whole TV tuner/remote thing would be awsome if it worked well
post #31 of 49
I can say that it works fine on the 8886 so once we get some info from Sager then we'll be good as these Aver relatively well supoorted in the 3rd party programs
post #32 of 49
Stupid Avermedia never has emailed me back.
Hrm I'm also interested in knowing. The remote is dead ugly but if had more functionality I would use it. :P
post #34 of 49
I just recently also bought a 4780 I previously had a 8890 for a copule of days and the remote worked perfectly on it. I know I installed the software in the exact same way but no luck it can only control tv app and not pc. Adam how did you get your review unit to work. Will someone at pctorque or sager please sort this out, I think it is time to contact clevo for some assistance in this regard.
Sager and avermedia have been notified but to no avail is it going to work.
any resolution yet??
Nope its not going to work.
I think it should work somehow. Everyone clearly remembers Adams review unit which he said worked with this feature. Just today I was showing my family some pics I took on my SE p800 which I loaded onto my lappy. And it would've been great to just press a remote button instead of pressing next on my keyboard all the time
post #39 of 49
Well since everyones remote doesnt work like its supposed to then that doesnt mean adams was any different, im sure he was thinking about the 8890 as it worked but didnt have enough time to try the 4780's remote.

Did anyone open up their 4780 to see what chipset was in it? Or is that impossible? It looks like the 8790 is not going to ship until March, so I'd like to get the 4780, but I need the TV-tuner feature to work properly(yes...my computer will be my TV...and my...well lets not get into that shall we..youngins around ;-) ).
