Upgrading a Turion CPU - can I expect a significant performance boost in gaming?

Hi.

Right now I have a MSI MS-1029 notebook, and it's great. Performance in most games (Doom 3, HL2, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Far Cry, CoD2) is pretty damn good.

However, I'm currently running with a Turion MT-30 CPU. I'm pondering upgrading to an MT-40. Will the performance boost be worth the money I pay?

I'm not expecting a huge FPS gain, honestly. But I'm curious how the 600MHz difference will matter (if it does at all), specifically in terms of gaming.

Turion benchmarks here, but they don't have the 40's. But should give some idea.

And should be able to estimate where the 40 is. Check your BIOS supports the 40.

From what I'm seeing with the gaming benchmarks...if the results are linear as expected(to a point of course) then expect about 5% increase in fps for every 200MHz. So an extra 600MHz give you an extra 15% increase.
