Well, I got the card and tried it out i did get a better signal considering I used the built in antenna. But not that much of a difference and didn't fry the board like some vendors say it would do. Now for anybody who decides get one I would what until they come out with the "optional" SMA connector and as of now it's undecided. Now for for using it with Aircrack it will not work because the last patched MADWIFI drivers that the creator for "Aircrack" made don't support G4, G5 or G6 Atheros chipsets they support only G2 chipset and with Devine (creator) who has vanished off the face of the earth there is no saying if there will be any more "Aircracks" coming out, with that said the card would be great for windoze apps like netstumbler etc. But recommend waiting for the SMA "optional" connector and use that with a Rover Portable Laptop Mount 2.4GHz 5.5dBi Antenna or something similar.

I found a Rover Portable Laptop Mount 2.4GHz 5.5dBi Antenna with U.FL Connector that would work with the card, which would let you advantage of the power of the card. http://www.connexwireless.com/products/RV24-5RD.shtml

Ranger just wanted to get an update about this card. Are you still not having any issues with it? I just ordered one for my Inspiron 8600, so I just wanted to make sure. Also, how hot does it get?

I also would like an update about card does it drain battery faster?

The card works fine and doesn't that hot more like warm but that just about it. Because of the power output, yeah it would drain the battery fast I havn't messured it though. It will not work with aircrack in linux, cause the driver and patch for the driver don't support G6 chipset. I don't run windoze that much either, but it I recommend using a external antenna rather then the built in antenna.

Are you using the one from the link you provided earlier?

http://www.connexwireless.com/products/RV24-5RD.shtml

Also, how did you route the antenna wire so it could be external?
Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, you can use that link or who ever sells a "Rover Antenna" which ever works for you. I havn't bought one yet (broke ass student) but the way I was gonna route it through making a hole where the modem jack cause I never use it and maybe never will.
