Request: Idiot's guide to 9300 screen

Hey there ladies and gents,
I got my shiny new 9300 a few days ago, and like everyone else, my colors are all washed out and crappy looking. Now, I've been looking around the forums for the past hour trying to figure out how to make it better, but I'm still stuck.
I've seen a lot of people post their "optimal settings" for their particular monitor, but I don't even know how to change my settings!
I've also seen people use some thing called "Display Optimization Wizard," but I can't find that either.
All I've been able to figure out so far is that my screen's model number is LPL0000.
I downloaded PowerStrip and DisplayMate, but I'm not really sure how to do anything with them, cause I'm a total re re about this stuff.

Can someone just really quickly tell me what to do to overcome my screen retardation? I would be so grateful!

Thanks!

You got an LG display, check your invoice for model number. You can change color settings in nVidia control panel, its in color correction tab. I believe theres a thread about LG display and people's settings, don't use Display Optimization Wizard it makes it worse usually.

Just right click on the desktop, go into NVIDIA display; laptop display. Go into color correction. Under the color profile drop down, click on advanced mode. Then in the black grid box, move the white line so the "In" says 55 and the "Out" box says 45. Next, increase the digital vibrance. The colors should look better.

I have the same screen as you, Spaceman. IMO the nVidia control does not adjust the color temperature very easily or very well for this monitor. So I prefer PowerStrip for my screen calibration. If you'd like to use PowerStrip as well, then....

Install PowerStrip.

Right click on its icon in the taskbar.

In Preferences>Options check 'Auto-load with Windows' and 'Restore settings on startup.'

Make sure that the modules 'Display Controls' and 'Color Controls' are checked. Click 'Apply.'

Close that and then go back to the icon, right-click and select

color profiles>configure. Enter....

Gamma = 1.00
Brightness = 30%
Contrast = -40%
Temp = 5400 k

Make sure that 'Enable Color Correction' is checked. 'Apply.'

@Spaceman...
n/p, but I can't really take credit for those settings as I got them from the Doc's post.

He used the color calibration software DisplayMate along with Powerstrip to arrive at those settings.

@basso....
Try Displaymate and/or these charts along with PowerStrip to adjust the orange more to your liking:
