As the title states, when can I order myself a nice x60s?

I called Lenovo sales today. I wanted to place an order for a T60p and configure it myself. They said I can't do that until the beginning of February but they have some preconfigured systems for sale. Their specs are in the low end, though, so I'm gonna have to wait. They took the specs that I wanted and told me they'll call me whenever a system comes up that matches them. We'll see.

Don't hold your breath. Lenovo, in the brief time they have been running the Thinkpad division, is notoriously slow at getting product in the channel; especially the high end stuff. I have a T43p and I would buy a T60p right now if they had one available. I'm guessing you won't be able to get one till April.

I'm thinking about going the ACER 8200 route because I think it's got great components and a widescreen... AND it will be available very shortly.
