Sager 9860 hard drive size?

hi,

I need to know the actual physical size of the hard drive in the Sager 9860. I know its 60Gb 7200rpm but i need to know if its 1.8" or 2.5".

I want to put my old hard drive from the 9860 into an external case. Anyone know what size it is..?

Cheers...

It's 2.5" but it could be either Parallel ATA or Serial ATA, keep in mind there's only one model of SATA 2.5" external case on the market (that I know of) - so unless it's PATA you may have difficulty.

I bought the standard hard drive, as is, straight from sager, so i think that would be a Pata drive? is this correct anyone??

btb...im a complete noob at this sort of thing so idiot terms would be appreciated

More than likely it's a Parallel ATA 2.5 inch drive, and all you need is a 2.5" enclosure like this:

I have 2 100gig PATA drives in my 9860 and 3 80gig drives in external enclosures...

When you got you laptop 4/13/2005 the 7200RPM SATA Drives were not available. So you must have a PATA which will have lots of 2.5in firewire/usb drive enclosures.
